The map "background" that the game is played on is google maps. So if you want to look for parks or "purple parks" you can simply look for them via google maps and then try to figure out how to get there in game once you know where they are. I fell down a rabbit hole looking for an explanation of purple for parks. There is apparently no official legend for google maps and the symbols and colours you see in any given area are specific to standard mapping practices for the particular region. Some might even be outdated.

While it is apparently true, and dev confirmed, that plants are most likely to show up in parks it seems that they do not always show up in parks. Devs have yet to make any clarifications on what defines the plant distribution. Assuming that they don't want to tell people exactly where they can find plants to farm they will probably never make any such clarification.

I have seen it suggested that one must build fronts in a park area for plants to start spawning there. So if you safehouse travel through you may not find any. Many people say that there are more pyros around plants. That may be true since so many people seem to agree on it but I have plenty of pyros on my turf and the only spot where I have a few plants has none. So finding plants may or may not assure pyro spawns in any greater number.

A little late here, but I would suggest large forrested areas that show uneven terrain and are a deeper shade of green. I am only willing to suggest one general location because its to large to concerned about depletion of resources, and most people are already aware of itsplant production. The spot is Alaska. Get an inv, zoom out with gps, pck a big green area of the map, and sh hop until you reach it.
