Lately I've begun work on a couple PM projects. Today I will discuss one of them, which is the calculation of enemy cash/exp drops. We all know that enemies drop exp/cash on defeat, and in some cases their general range, but we don't know exactly how much they drop, nor do we know the effect of level. We see huge variation among the enemies of the same type and level, but how much is it really? And what about EXP, how does that change compared to cash? We often see updates talking about changes in these drops, but how much of an effect do these really have?

The goal of this project is to answer these questions. No matter how we put it, PM is code and in the end all these numbers are based on pre-defined values. My goal is to find the truth. Once I get conclusive results I'll make sure these are posted for all to see. Who knows what kind of shocking conclusions we'll find?

The calculations involve killing an enemy (must be at full health first), then recording its type, strength, cash gain and exp gain. If you would like to contribute to my data just let me know.

While my results are far from complete, here's a few observations at this time:

*Cash and EXP do not appear to be linked in any way

*EXP ranges appears to remain fairly constant between enemy levels

*EXP variance is unknown, largest confirmed range at this time was 2.17x

*Cash change between levels is also unknown, but strong-powerful may be around 2x.

*Rarely, an enemy seems to drop a couple times more cash/exp that usual.
